It starts with a walk around the garden together. You tell us what you want from it, and we tell you what the garden can realistically give.

Why it starts with the site
The right plant in the right place
Most struggling gardens are not badly looked after. They are planted wrong for where they are: sun lovers in shade, thirsty plants on dry sandstone, shrubs that want twice the room they were given.
A horticulturist reads the conditions first, then suggests plants that will thrive there with the level of care you want to give them. The garden gets better each year instead of fighting you.

Questions about garden advice and redesign
Do you just advise, or do the planting as well?
Both. Some clients take the plan and plant it themselves, and others ask us to do the work. Either way the advice comes first.
What should I have ready for the consultation?
Nothing special. It helps to know what you like and dislike about the garden now, how much upkeep you want, and any plants you want to keep.
When is the best time to replant?
Autumn is usually best in Sydney, while the soil is still warm and the heat has gone. Spring works too. Planting at the peak of summer asks a lot of new plants.
Can you help with a garden that gets very little sun?
Yes. Shade is common on established blocks with mature trees, and plenty of good plants cope with it. It starts with working out how much light each bed really gets.
