What gutter cleaning covers
A blocked gutter overflows against the house, and leaf litter left in it dries out over summer. Both are easy to prevent.

Why it matters here
Leafy streets fill gutters fast
The mature trees that keep the North Shore and Northern Beaches so green also drop leaves, bark and gum nuts into gutters all year. A gutter that is full by the first summer storm overflows against walls, eaves and foundations.
Dry leaf litter in a gutter is also a known ember risk, which is why homes near bushland are advised to clear their gutters before the bushfire season.

Questions about gutter cleaning
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Once or twice a year suits most homes. Houses under large eucalypts or other big trees can need it more often.
Why clean gutters before summer?
Two reasons. Summer storms bring heavy rain that a blocked gutter cannot carry, and dry leaf litter in a gutter is a fire risk for homes near bushland.
Do you clear the downpipes too?
They are checked every time, and cleared where the blockage can be reached from the gutter. A blockage further down may need a plumber, and we will tell you if that is the case.
Can it be part of my regular garden visits?
Yes. Gutter cleaning can be scheduled in with the rest of the garden, so it happens at the right time every year.
